DTS Play-Fi Arrives On TVs
Philips and DTS join forces to create the premier wireless entertainment experience
Starting with the latest 2020 OLED televisions from Philips, you'll be able to enjoy all the great benefits of DTS Play-Fi on a TV. These televisions are compatible with the 29 brands and over 300 products on the market supporting DTS Play-Fi. From tabletop speakers, to AVRs, to sound bars, to portable speakers, and now televisions, DTS Play-Fi works with everything. Stream music and stations from all your favorite sources, such as Amazon Music, Deezer, Napster, Qobuz, Tidal, and more. With DTS Play-Fi, the music is always in sync, even on the TV. Play-Fi compatible TVs enjoy a rich visual experience complete with artist details, song tiles, station art and album art.
Of course, DTS Play-Fi is so much more than music. DTS Play-Fi's Whole Home TV Audio feature wirelessly extends the TV experience throughout the home to compatible DTS Play-Fi products. So as some residents watch the news or the big game, others can stay in tune as they make a meal in the kitchen, relax on the patio, or do as they please wherever they may be in their home.
Besides streaming TV audio to other Play-Fi products, users can also take advantage of the DTS Play-Fi Headphones App to enjoy a private listening experience. The Play-Fi Headphones App for iOS and Android works with your existing headphones to provide portable listening with pairing-free setup, outstanding audio quality, and whole-home wireless range. DTS Play-Fi is built-in to the TV, so the only thing you need is your home Wi-Fi.
The best part is that DTS Play-Fi is always getting better. We hope to see you in the near future when we have even more exciting updates to share, but for now: Enjoy Television like you never have before with DTS Play-Fi and Philips.

Great news! Is there a list of which Philips TV models support this? Do they support other Play-Fi speakers for surround as was suggested in the fall announcement?

Hi Play-Fi team, this is great news.
Can you tell if a Play-FI-enabled TV, like the new Philips announcement, will all be “surround MASTER”?
It looks like this particular characteristic is required to add wireless surround speakers to the setup…
Thank you for your answer !
Note:
My “dream” is not to lay down wires in the living room to have surround sound.
If I can I would do this, re-using the existing devices for 80% of a 5.1 setup, and using Play-FI for the remaining 20%:
- Central channel playback through the native (built-in) TV speakers
- LFE (Bass) + front speakers playback through my home hifi (currently wired to the TV through optical)
- Rear (surround) speakers in wireless playback through Play-FI

Hey Jacques,
We can’t comment on this topic today, as we’re currently focusing on delivering the music, whole home TV audio, and DTS Play-Fi Headphones features to the TV platform, but I’d say to look for more details on upcoming features and software updates for DTS Play-Fi in TVs this year. We’ve got lots more planned and in active development!

I have a Philips 65OLED934/12 and it is not recognized by the app as a „Surround Master“. Software/Firmware and App are up to date.

I have a Philips 65OLED935/12. When will it be possible to add rear surround speakers using integrated DTS Play-FI?

Hi,
We have a 43pus8555/12 do we think they’ll be an update to PlayFi App on the TV that recognizes the TV as Surround Master in order for us to add wireless speaker around the room to have and set up the surround sound experience at all without the need of buying a soundbar?

Should have said update on the app on the phone that can recognize the tv speaker as a surround master. As the atmos on the tv speaker on this tv is superb and seems pointless getting a soundbar with atmos that can let us do a surround master setting with wireless speakers if the TV speaker is just as good as a soundbar. So be great if Play Fi or Philips can get that added in the app

In also have The Philips with B&W soundbar and have 2 Philips play fi speakers and they work prettig good but only in stereo. With The tv as master surround it would be perfect. Than i can setup the speakers as A surround setting.
Is there any News on this function for The Philips tv’s with play fi?
